Hi there.

I am completely new to the ADSL world hence my poopy understanding of it all. That said, here's my question:

I have an account at Connection and I suspect that I may be throttled at this point, but what I wish to know is whether someone should still be able to game or not whilst being throttled. Right now my ping to all Battlefield servers is 400m/s. That is, needless to say, unplayable.

EDIT: I just saw my ping to google.com is 400 as well. Is throttled internet suppose to be like this?

EDIT 2: Just ran the 'Is it my line' tool that is stickied in this section and got this:

Zertop's LineTool Results
Date/Time: Wed Feb 17 21:42:45 CAT 2016

Basic Report:

Your packet loss was 3%.
Your average ping was 449ms.
Your maximum ping was 562ms.

You seem to have some packet loss. This indicates an issue on the line.
Looking at your average ping, there is definitely something wrong with your line! Please post the results (at the end of the program) into the forum for advice!

That would be line/exchange problems - probably exchange congestion. My ping is always low, even when throttled. After 5pm, throttling lifts.

Try with another ISP (get a free AH account) and see if congestion disappears. (Remember to leave account connected for an extended period)

Here my results:

Zertop's LineTool Results
Date/Time: Thu Feb 18 08:00:17 CAT 2016

Basic Report:

Your packet loss was 0%.
Your average ping was 13ms.
Your maximum ping was 24ms.

Looking at your average ping, your line seems to be running perfectly.
It seems that your maximum ping is also good. If there are any issues, they most probably lie with your ISP
