Been set back to 2008 NOW!!!

[Johannesburg, 24 May 2006] - The Eastern Africa Submarine Cable System Network (Eassy) will be commercially available in 2008, says the Nepad e-Africa Commission.

Initially, the $280 million Eassy cable project was expected to be ready by the end of 2007, but suffered a series of delays, including issues related to the raising of funds and formulation of the policy framework.

Yah - we're now building a cable to the moon - thanks to NEPAD (and affiliated cronies.)

Delayed to 2008, wahaha, that's wishful thinking. They will probably only open that tap (in our country at least) the day before 2010 world cup.

if the cable is not stolen before then by some dude thinking it's copper!

By 2008 we'll have multi-xspectrum [includes gamma and x-ray] lasers reflecting off special sattelite "mirrors" doing the speed of light data transmissions.

Thing is ... the current cable network is not 100% utilised .. the power of greed cannot be overestimated.

Still doing the schoolboy bickering thing?

Soooo typical  everybody wants the best from this deal, yet is unwilling to pass the benefits through to the hoi polloi....
