So it had to happen to me too. Damn I am furious.

So some unscrupulous company decided that I am stupid enough to pay R5 p/d for "Total embarassing video service"
and subscribed me to this service without my consent.

They call themselves ZUMA mobile. And these ****ers are based in MALTA!!!!.

This after I asked MTN about 10 months ago to block all numbers on my account from subscriptions.

I sms'ed STOP to the number they provided in their sms to me and got confirmation that I am now unsubscribed (This after 13 days cos I neglected to check my messages)

I called MTNsp and they told me I have a subscription from Opera Telecom and gave me a number to call and cancel. Now you probably guessed right that I got the whole call center crap, so I ended up sending them a mail.

How the F&*k can MTN allow this to happen to a loyal customer.

I am cancelling my contract and porting to Vodascum instead. At least they will implement a double opt-in system to protect their subscribers. No more money for EMPTYN cos my contract was done last year allready.

Forgot to say that I lodged 2 complaints with WASPA. Not much hope though.
Now it's not a big amount involved , but the principal of it all.
This is the same as stealing or raping and I feel violated.

Opera Telecom responds on hellopeter, so at least there you would be reasonable guaranteed of getting unsubscribed. As for getting a refund, that is a completely different matter.

WASPA are overwhelmed with queries since the networks started lodging them as well - they went from a couple a day to 2K-5K a day.
