Suburban apiary, beehives and beekeeping

I've started making use of the retail barcode label feature in shopify. I only need to find an Avery template on shopify that perfectly matches the labels that we get here.

This one is slightly out and gets worse at the bottom row. This is the 65up tower A4 label sheet. I'm not sure if it's possible to edit the label template that shopify uses to match the local label sheets.

It does make tracking inventory from my market day sales easier and linked to my website inventory.

I use the shopify POS app on my phone and then scan the barcodes. Checkout is fine on the shopify POS app and inventory on my website is updated instantly.

I only use the Yoco machine to record the total of the sale if customers want to pay with their cards. 298797386.jpg1256718445.jpg

On your website under raw honey. Is there a reason you don't add any additional info? Raw & unheated, unfiltered etc. Bees that source pollen on our doorstep etc. I feel like if I linked that honey to someone who's particular about their honey, there's literally nothing there to bait them...not even the back of the product label is included in the photoset.

Raw by definition is unfiltered, unheated or processed.

The next level after that is choice grade. All raw honey is choice grade but not all choice grade honey can be classified as raw honey.

I'm hesitant to put on the floral source as bees can fly up to 10km from where they are located and I have no control over what flowers they are visiting. The same for any organic labeling as there is no certainty that the bees did not collect nectar and pollen from sources that are not organic friendly.

The only thing I can guarantee is that the honey is raw and locally sourced. I've had to buy in raw honey from other trusted beekeepers die to my own stock not keeping up with demand.

I'll add in some of this info to the website

Cool. Somewhere in this thread we discussed honey that's really really unfiltered...has a bunch of 'bee debris' in it. Do you sell something like that?

I have about 25kg of honey like that but it's still in a 20l drum.

I was going to strain it once before bottling it but that was only going to be in a few months as I have enough stock at the moment.

I've updated the descriptions on my website. Just check if that is better.

Yeah that's cool like that.

No bait needed. Once you've tasted it, all other honey is inferior.

Yeah I'll try make a plan next time I'm in swest. Dying to try some o dat honeycomb.
It does look great! But even the bottled stuff is delicious. I have stocked up for Christmas via courier, it also makes ideal gifts. The lip balm is excellent, as is the propolis (I have the tincture, serum and raw which I use for things like fever blisters). Also, I have grown a beard just so that I can test the beard oil and beard balm.

10 x 12 hour shifts until the 24th.

Going to have a well deserved break after this stint.

And I still need to fulfil any online orders from my website when I get home in the evenings. 1235355871.jpg1506656784.jpg1156325472.jpg1241709240.jpg

The journey continues.

I have built 3x2 hive stands, wood treated etc.

Supers all have full wax strips. Tomorrow we head out for site prep and wild hive recon, likely moving that next week!

Good luck. I work alone so difficult for me to make videos and do a removal or inspection at the same time.

Site prepped initial hives placed will do relocation next week

Nice location.

If hive beatles become a problem then you can move the hives in full sun.

But if the colony is strong and the box is not too big for them then they should be able to control the hive beatles. Small colonies tend have more issues with hive beatles.
