Subwoofer in headunit

I 'm currently in the process to custom made a wood plasma unit to host my blue ray, DVD, video, amplifier etc. Is it a good idea to slot in my subwoofer in the same head unit. (This is due to space constrains, neatness, etc) Or is it recommendable to let the sub stand free from this unit.

Please mention advantages / disadvantages. Many thanks.

I would keep that sub far away from the rest of the equipment. Vibration and magnets they no likey.

yip best to keep the sub free standing, believe me vibrations will not be good. plus the sub needs good ventalation for the exhaust system.
