I've got a pretty old setup (probably 10 years or so) in terms of cabling & dish. I upgraded to an Explora last year and changed the LNB to a SatCR, still with the single cable. After the first storms last Friday I started to get intermittent "No Signal" messages, which became more frequent before becoming permanent a few days later.
Switched the LNB to the single input & tested with a normal decoder, no signal so it's not the decoder. Switched to the 80cm dish next to it to eliminate the LNB as the issue, still no signal. At the moment I'm left with the cable as the likely source, at the LNB end the plastic has degraded to the point where you can see the mesh at some points.
Any help & advice? Apart from getting an installation company in to lay new cable, anything that I might be able to do (in a cost effective manner) to fix this? Any tips of the trade?
If I call in an installer, are they likely to charge for a completely new installation?
