So, I tried to download a plugin for the Gimp using the
Code:
sudo apt-get install libgimp2.0-dev
command , but aparntly i am not in the sudoers file.
What to do now?
BTW I'm using Fedora Core 10

MyWorld - he is trying to use a debian command on a fedora install.

wpswart006 - assuming you are using F10, what is your problem? What is it that you are wanting to do? I assume you did a google search and you picked the first result (which was for ubuntu and not fedora)

EDIT: What made you download the plug-in? What was the exact message you got that made you start this passage?

@ milomak. I did a google search for a "denoise plugin" for The GIMP. And somewhere down the line there was a guy asking for a linux version, and then someone provided the above mentioned command.

Aaaaah, now were getting somewhere!

Have you searched Fedoras repositories for the file? Fedora should have a GUI that allows you to install and uninstall software, do a search and look for libgimp.

But I doubt that Fedora will have the same packages that is pre-compiled for Debian, from what I gather that file you are looking for is a collection of plugins for Ubuntu/Debian.

What exactly are you trying to do in Gimp? If it is a simple denoise, download this:
http://registry.gimp.org/node/4235

Extract the file and install it:
make
su
make install

If no errors are present you will now be able to use the filter:
"Filters->Enhance->Wavelet denoise"

If you need something more complex, just let me know.
