Do i stick with IBURST or just cancel it.
ATM i get 56 k speeds constantly and iburst refuse to speak to me.
i cant kill my cap ever coz my speeds are too slow to download on.
do i stick with it until they upgrade or put a tower closer to my house or do i CANCEL it

My philosophy will be there is no need to continue to pay for a service that you dont get.

Why will iBurst refuse to speak to you?
I hear they can issue reference number [not sure if by request] to track your querry.

Which area are you in?
Have you asked them when are they rolling out a B/S near your area?

Or are you using an external antenna

He is about three blocks away from me. We have a pretty god tower but he seems to have a k@k connection.

Maby you should try moving your aerial higher up.. where is yours anyway? mine is on the wall up my driveway.. Ive never seen yours b4.

Ja which area are you in......your signal LED's maybe be all lit up but your Frame Errors could be high....or you just have a bad signal.......like native said.

Who installed your antenna?

i leave in cpt about 4 km away from the plumstead tower and i got everything instaled by a reseler that was on ibursts website(broardban express i think).my con idles on no signal and my connection speed decrease on a daliy basis. i have a top of the range router with a standard modeom from iburst and my connection is sooooooooooooooo slow.

Hmmm, you need professional help.

No, Quinn we are 6.5 or 7km away from the base station, thats what my reseller's equipment siad. It sounds about right.

haha dude I also got mine installed by Broadband express. But not the same guy as you, he was called chris.

Have no idea why yours is so slow then. Have you set teh MTU and restarted your modem? but neither of those should give you long term probs..
Is the antenna even facing plumbstead?

Dude that is sick! and not in a good way! :( Is your antenna in the sweetspot? Top of the range router that can handle custom MTU settings? so you talking Linksys or something? That could most definately be your problem.I had my router optimised, MTU 1352,but it's also running QoS so it's flyin........

So what did the reseller say when you called them? They should be providing you with support....

Maybe they need spare cables in case customers call and are in need of one, so maybe if you callem they'll bring you one and say: 'Don't worry it's on the house' :D haha

let us know how it goes after you update your firmware then.....so call BE for help. How much they charge?

How can you check your current firmware version, and can a firmware update actually help for signal issues?

if you connect with the usb cable you can check via the little app that runs the modem. should give you connection percentage and frame rate errors.

The new firmware apparently helps the modem connect to a single tower and not get 'confused' with two towers that are nearby. Most people haven't noticed much improvement or degradation after ward.

The new firmware can help sort out some stability issues, maby some siganl problems too.
But dont expect a huge increse in speed, could just be more consistent.

You check your firmware on the Iburst app, when connected via USB. It is on the info/about tab in the program. The ncheck out the latest versionj on the website under support. The newest version is from october last year, the 22nd i think.

Quinn I have the latest firmware and the drivers on my PC, you can bring a flash drive and take them if you want, no need to download them.
But you still need to be connected via USB to instal the firmware, so you can use my cable if you want.

I am sorry to hear that.If you are on month 2 month then your cancellation period is 30 days notice.I'm sure you can wangle something if you've just paid for the current month but either way whoever your reseller is can/should help you.Call them and ask them to come and look at your problem.

OR

I can arrange for someone to come out and have a look at your problem or if you want to DIY, get UTTRACESTAR and fiddle with you antenna till you get the sweetspot. If you have the iPanel, please be aware that if it's slightly off the Base Station forget about a good signal. If your's was working fine then perhaps there's some new interference, building, electrical interference or perhaps the antenna wasn't secure enough and may have shifted due to wind, etc.
