Sugar Alternative

OP - how's the work situation?

A month ago I went to CCMA, filled out the forms and started the process for conciliation. I received a date/time and the minute I presented this to management they backtracked on the whole thing.

They agreed to move me to a new position where I wouldn't be reporting to the GM effective immediately, on condition I drop everything with regards to CCMA.

Oddly, I requested this a week before I went to CCMA and they couldn't accommodate me at all. Took an actual letter for them :P Although I haven't started the new position (they need to replace me), things have toned down hugely !

Awesome! Hope it continues to go okay

Thanks man.

Yea I'm still going to keep my eyes open, but also hoping I don't need to. Don't want to jump too many jobs

I've tried adjusting to the taste of coffee and tea without sugar but IMO they taste better with just a small amount of sugar - even half a teaspoon is enough. Sorry, that's probably contrary to all the best advice of this thread.

Serious answer, cut sugar completely out of tea and coffee. I did it nearly 2 years ago (followed by cutting milk from both) and haven't looked back. It will take you a month or two of regular drinking to get used to the taste, but once you are you won't be able to go back to sweet tea or coffee.

I can understand cutting out sugar (it is something I would also like to do soon), but why cut out milk?

For me it was about taste. Black coffee/tea tastes better than white without sugar. Sometimes I'll add a bit of lemon to the tea, depending on the type.

Adding sugar to coffee ruins the taste, haven't been doing it for years. It's like cooking a steak well done. For tea I usually add about half a teaspoon of honey. As for other uses we've been using Xylitol for baking etc. it's about 30% of calories compared to sugar iirc. Stevia is hard to find or I'm looking at the wrong places

Intolerance of various other health related reasons.

I never have sugar in my tea or coffee. I tastes better that way imo

Just on this topic, does anyone know where to get even remotely reasonably priced maple syrup?

I'm afraid of Stevia after that rycin poison thing in Breaking Bad.

Still worth a shot :)

If you're buying pure grade A, B etc. maple syrup (not dodgy stuff mixed with other kinds of syrup) there's very slim chance of getting it cheaper than what it retails for.

Maple flavored syrup /shudders

Raw honey is the healthiest sweeener out of the lot. I consume 1kg in a week.
