... for the December / January holidays, please.

Every year, seats on planes and accommodation get booked full earlier and earlier !!

Wanted to go to India, but decided against it.
Wanted to go to Reunion, but all flights for December are booked.
Mauritius/Seychelles too full during December.

Looking for a beach / island type / doing-nothing-the-whole-day-long type of getaway.

Anyone been to Mombassa?

Go to the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico - awesome!!! Beautiful place, plenty heritage, friendly people, good food - top class destination...

We flew via California because I was there on business so not sure about direct flights. From there to our hotel was 3 hours door to door...;)

How about putting up a list of places you've been to to avoid the whole "suggestion"..."no I've been there before" thing dragging on for 100 pages?
 
Goto the South of France, am sure RyderJHB will second that :)

Cool, some places that I can recommend from experience are Thailand (just avoid Phuket 'cos it's horribly over populated with tourists) and Goa (although it appears that India is out for you). Suppose that Japan might count as an island too, although not very much the tropical kind. There's lots to see there though.

Other places that might interest you might be Fiji and the Caribbean (lots of different islands, not all of them populated by tourists).

You tell her! But I am a bit concerned that the picture looks nothing like my Durban! You can even stay at my place Blu... I'm sure there is a chance we will not have killed each other by the end of the week! ;)

I have nothing against Durbs, it's just that it is a crowded nightmare in December and since we have clients close by, I have just been there way too many times.

There is no such thing as going to Durbs "too many times" :rolleyes:
