I am very new to this so please excuse me if my questions sound silly!
I have been reading up on FTT... and have a very good understanding of the difference between them.

I have been asked, as to what question I would ask a prospective client to ensure I sell the right solution.

Not sure if you're joking or not. If you don't understand the difference between FTTH and FTTB and don't have the ability to Google the difference, then I don't think that you should be in the industry of recommending these types of products.
