To whoever at Telkom reads this.

Times are changing Telkom and theres still a way to make money out of a dying technology .. dial-ip.

Suggestion :

Offer free connection time. IE allow free access 24/7. Its too slow for todays Internet and is still a pretty unpleasant experience to use. I doubt you would offer that kinda service for free. So perhaps make dial-up Internet users pay an extra R50 as an extra service you can order.

This will make you competitive to people on lower budgets. It will be able to directly compete with mobile platforms like Iburst and the mobile platform entry pricing.

It will also be an incentive for more people to purchase a telephone instead of just a cellphone and using GPRS or something.

Its 56kb for goodness sakes. Its really really needed in more rural areas where ADSL and 3G are not available. Satellite is too expensive and therefore excludes most rural people.

You could tap a way larger consumer base.

Hope someone is listening.
