Looking for something that's more than p&s but not as fancy as the stuff you boys probably have. Any recommendations? And where is a good place to purchase?
It's meant to be a gift, but something I will likely end up using a fair amount too.

If you look around you might find the kit version, with 2, leaving you reasonably well sorted.

The 600D has been suggested. Looking at that at the moment.

How much are you willing to spend? You can also go 2nd hand. ODP's website has some classifieds with good deals. I also know someone switching to Nikon and selling their gear,a 500D and 50D(brilliant camera, although no video) with a couple of lenses.
