Suggestions for handset ?

For someone who only uses their phone for basic functions, i.e. call, SMS and access the WWW, what would you recommend?

BB Q10 or Z10
Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini
Nokia Lumia 920 or 925

I just came from a Note 3 to the 5S and seriously couldn't be happier. I have been a samsung, and Android supporter for years, but wanted a change. Couldn't be happier.

But hey, this isn't an Android vs iOS fanboi war.

If I had to stick 100% with what is on your list OP, I would take the Lumia 925. I've always loved the 920, and with the amount of Apps not being an issue, I don't see why not.

Why do you want to force itunes on anyone? :sick:

The S4 mini is a brilliant phone with latest features & would get my vote.

haha....very true.

However, Android is the only handset that you can put in the sim and make a phone call right away.

You simply cannot do it with an iPhone or Windows Phone, as you must "register" first.

And friend of mine got so annoyed the other night, his iPad had a huge software update, and when he wanted to sync stuff to it, and plugged it into his computer and opened itunes, he got a message that he cannot use itunes, but must update it first.

Needless to say, he almost threw the ipad against the wall.

So whoever says iphones "just works" and "gets the job done", are obviously some hardcore apple trolls.

If you just want basic functionality it really doesn't matter. There's very little between the Z10, 925 and S4 mini.

Personally I'd go for the S4 mini because I like android, if not for that then I'd choose the 925 because it's screen is far better. I'd say the 925.

S4 functionality beats the crap out of the others, you cannot come close to Google Now IMO

Totally agree! Just got myself the 5S while I still have my S4 and it's much better. I've been an Android faithful since Android Cupcake but now Google has lost a customer. It's only Apple for me from here on..

Only thing I miss is the Air view feature. I didn't realise how handy that was..

OP, go with the Lumia 925 for sure! The S4 mini is a close second though
 
Something else to consider is the insurance for the phone.

On the S4 mini you can get away with R50 a month, while an iphone 5s will cost you more than double that.

The Nokia Windows phones are very bulky in your hand, I suggest OP actually play with demo phones in a cellphone shop.
