Suicide threat

Hi,

A woman on my forum has just announced that she wants to commit suicide. Now if, according to therapists, every threat of suicide is to be considered legitimate, what is the best course of action to take if I wanted to help in some way.

Is there an organization that I can contact who would talk to her?

What can you do? Foreward her details to the police in the region where she lives?
Maybe see if you can look up the details for a relative in the phone book or online?

Could be a troll tho...
Do what you can, but don't take it too seriously.
 
Now she's threatened to kill her husband. She definitely needs to speak to a professional.

Although, I am starting to lose confidence in the legitimacy of this story.
 
Oh well, she has just said she is going to hire someone to kill her husband, after she prays about it. :rolleyes: Psycho.
 
Hey gsw - wow. Not sure if I believe her story at all. Sounds rather ridiculous. Her husband is the MD of some company, they live apart, have 5 kids, he has 6 others, she found out he was cheating (any asked how yet?), she wants to kill herself, she wants to hire someone to kill him, he gave her AIDS blah blah. I really hope this isn't real - it doesn't sound like it. Either she's had some of the worst luck in the world, or this can't be true.

Not sure if the forum is the best place for this to play out. If she's serious, it might be her only venting outlet though. Let's hope she's not and it's just a troll.

Best thing to do would be for her to see a counsellor and then a therapist. I'm not a church-goer, however they usually have counsellors on hand for trauma who are mobile pretty quickly. And her medical aid will cover seeing a therapist. This might also sound strange, but a divorce attorney won't want her to die, especially after she's initiated the contact with him. He'll make sure she pulls through if there is money in it, which if her story checks out, sounds like there just might be...

I know this is O/T , but the last time I wanted to access that site, I got a virus warning from my PC ...

Yeah, sorry about that. The site was hacked and there were scripts all over the show. It's sorted now.
 
mm sounds ott to me and its a new member... but report it to the police...(for what its worth)

Remember that people don't talk with friens and family anymore, so they need an alternative outlet. She may be screaming for help to the people she feels knows what she's going through.
