Can anyone recommend a place for renting a suit preferably near to JHB West Rand? My son is going to a matric farewell party and I don't want to spend R3K on a suit he might only wear once. I've found Florida Tailors and Eurosuit so far, no idea how good either is.

Get him a good tailor-made suit. He won't grow much since he's 18 now so he can wear it for a good coupla years.

+1 this, my pants and jacket still fit fine from then, just shirt got swapped once I put on more muscle.
Rather than getting something evening wear, just get him something that would be fine in business as well. Then you don't need another when he does interviews a couple of years later (besides maybe tie and shirt).

Used Eurosuit for my wedding 10 years ago. Was worthwhile. They make minor alterations so the suit fits you. Took it the Friday - had to have it back by the Tuesday.

Honestly you could also just go to Edgars/Woolworths and get him one. They have decent suits and the prices aren't too extravagant really. Could probably get a suit for R1k.

Hopefully OPs kid has matriculated by now and doesn't need suit recommendations a year later

Markham has the best priced suits, exceptional value.

We ended up using Florida Tailors. They were outstanding; my son chose a nice blue-grey suit with blue tie and pocket handkerchief. They supplied the lot - suit, tie, shirt, etc., - and were very professional.
