Summer tires during Cape Town winter ?

Hello everyone ! I need to replace my tires on my vehicle now and I'm wondering if summer tires will be too dangerous to drive daily (just for winter obviously). I drive a hatchback with 200kw so it can be pretty aggressive at times.. Perhaps their is a particular summer tire that is a little more forgiving when it gets chilly ? I'm currently looking at the Hankook Ventus v12 Evo2 tires - Michelins are out of budget.

200Kw is a kids toy. If you can't drive 50Kw is deadly. If you cannot judge the road or the situation you should not drive at all.
 
It's just that I know when its real late at night or early in the morning combined with winter rains I am a bit concerned that I could find myself in a pickle.

It's all relative, this is my first performance car so more than enough power for me
A friend suggested to just stick with the summer performance tires and just drive more cautiously when the conditions are not ideal...

We don't have different tyres, cause it does not snow.

No, there're aren't any decent pickles in SA.

Apart from NY Bagel if they're still around.

Just get tires. There's no winter in SA.

Then don't drive like a d*ck.

Under normal driving conditions, you should never find yourself on the edge with regular tyres ever.

We do. Just not that anyone knows. They Fing expensive. I still have a set of Cats paws in the shed. they stick to wet roads like nothing you have ever seen before.

How did you manage to get 200kw out of your Suzuki jimny? You should be more concerned about falling over rather than tires loosing grip!
 
The car cannot be " pretty aggressive at times", but the driver can be an idiot some or all of the time....simple.. don't be.
One drives for the road conditions at the time not your raging ego then all will be well.
Vettle manages to un-stick himself, not his tyres.
 
We only get summer tires in South Africa.

There are no winter tires as there is no need for them.

Roads aren’t only wet in winter...

Any good “summer” tyre sticks equally well in the winter.

Just don’t buy the cheap and nasty plastic **** and also don’t be an idiot.
