FC Barcelona and Villarreal CF have reached an agreement for the transfer of José Martín Cáceres. The transfer fee has been set at €16.5 million.

The defenderwill sign a four-year contract with the Blaugrana and will have a buy-out clause of €50 million inserted in to the deal.

Martín Cáceres arrived in Barcelona this morning and will undergo a medical examination at the club’s medical facilities at 16.00 this afternoon. The press will also be given a photo opportunity at the same time.

Caceres will complete his medical on Friday and is scheduled to officially sign for the club at noon the same day, when the press will again have an opportunity to photograph Barca’s latest signing.

Barcelona forward Eidur Gudjohnsen may be set for a return to the Premier League, according to his father.

The former Chelsea and Bolton player failed to cement a regular place in the Barcelona side last season and is said to be considering his future.

"One Premier League club has shown a lot of interest in Eidur," father and agent Arnor Gudjohnsen told BBC Sport.

"He would certainly be interested in a move back to England, but he is not going to rush into making a decision."

He added: "Eidur and his family are settled in Barcelona and he has two years left on his contract, but his chances were limited last season."

Mancini Agrees Terms With Barca​

Mancini is certain to leave the Giallorossi as his contract runs out in 2009, and he has refused to sign an extension. The wideman has been associated with a host of Europe’s top teams, including Inter, Liverpool, Lyon and Juventus, and Roma will choose to sell him, rather than risk losing him on a Bosman transfer next year.

Barcelona have been stepping up their attempts to sign Mancini over the past few days, and Italian super agent Ernesto Bronzetti, who represents Barca, was in Rome yesterday for transfer talks.

Mancini's agent, Gilmar Veloz, is said to have agreed a four-year contract with Barcelona for his client worth €3.7m a month.

Barcelona have yet to confirm that they are on the verge of signing Mancini, although vice-president Ferran Soriano refused to rule out the club’s interest in the 28-year-old.

"I am not saying that we are not interested in Mancini,” Soriano stated.

“But I can say we have not spoken with the player nor Roma."

Mancini scored eight goals in 31 Serie A appearances last season for the Eternal City outfit.

for all we know if ronaldo stays next season he only scores 12 and we see rooney regain form n score 40 ... u never know...rooney just had a bad season ... ronaldo dont make the team although he has done wonders for us...need i say 4 nil against arsenal without ronaldo...n arsenal played a good team that day...not reserves(unless u count the llikes of adebayor n fabregas as reserves whichthey definitely arent) ... personally i think nani gonna develop into a great player

They are legends because those are the only players you watch/know, as you only seem to watch manchester.

None of those players have been recognised by fifa as great players, so fifa also dont know what they talking about?

These are great players!!! and these are the players that have played for real madrid and barcelona.
