supa who cares who supports what team in all honesty man?

i dont know much about spain and italy because until recently they only started broadcasting on dstv

so htf would i know how barcelona or milan play week in and week if i dont have access to the games

uber is in even a worse position, he does not have dstv so he cannot watch any football in any country

i did start watching a few barce games and madrid games but again its hard because fiancee always wants to watch the movie on a sunday

i check on every league on espn soccernet and see how they are doing but for as being able to know anything about the players in these leagues its near impossible when dstv only broadcast a handful of games

again i never chose united because they where popular, i chose them because i liked their players and the attacking style of football

i dont limit myself to united, i know alot about most of the english teams in the league

so call me bandwagon supporter because i started supporting united back in the cantona/giggs era i dont give a crap man

think what you, im tired of explaining this to you

you support one of the best clubs in barcelona, so you have no reason to tune man united supporters

finished end of my story, act and say what you like, dont care anymore

you could have chosen a weaker spanish team but you chose barcelona lol so tune away all you like, you have major double standards

You chose manchester when they started winning in 1993 just like every other south african who is a man-u supporter.
DSTV has been showing spanish/italian games now for some years and I dont even live in south africa and know this.

As I previously said my other half of the family is from BARCELONA not that it ever had any bearing on the fact I chose them as my team.If I wanted to choose a top team in la liga I could have easily chosen real madrid or any other european team.

Not quite correct concerning coverage of serie a. DSTV has been showing serie a football for the last 5 years on rai international. Super sport hasn't been showing it regularly but the italian channel has. But unless you were following Italian football closely you won't know this. There coverage even last season was 100% better than dstv. They showed us 4 games a weekend compared to ss only showing us a live game some weekends.

damn good to know with ronaldino going to milan im going to watch alot more

what channel on dstv is this?

Specialist sub section. channel 403 I think. Will have to check which channel exactly. It used to be channel 93 before the channel switch when they put all the foreign language channels on their own subsection.

Russia star Andrei Arshavin says moving to Barcelona would be a dream
VIENNA, Austria: Russia's attacking midfielder Andrei Arshavin says moving to FC Barcelona would be a dream come true.

The Zenit St. Petersburg player has been one of the stars of the European Championship despite only playing two games because of suspension. His dribbling and passing skills, plus two goals in as many matches, have fueled speculation he will play in one of Europe's biggest leagues next season.

"I have supported Barcelona all my life. Barcelona are my dream," Arshavin told the official Web site of Euro 2008. "I never thought I would have a genuine chance to play for the club. Let's see how the situation unfolds."

Arshavin was in Vienna on Wednesday to prepare for Thursday's semifinal clash with Spain, and said he was focusing solely on that match.

"For now, I can't say anything for sure," he said. "At the moment I'm a player of team Russia and I'm only thinking about doing well in the semifinals."

Arshavin showed off his skills in Europe even before Euro 2008. He was instrumental in Zenit's victorious UEFA Cup campaign this season and set up both goals in the 2-0 defeat of Glasgow Rangers in the final.

His performances for Russia since returning from a two-match suspension have lit up the European Championship. He starred in Russia's 2-0 defeat of Sweden that put the team in the quarterfinal and then scored and set up a goal in the 3-1 demolition of tournament favorite the Netherlands in Basel.

"I came here hoping I'd get a chance to play at such a big tournament. I've never been to an event like this before," he said. "We had some very tough training sessions and it was difficult for me to be training a lot knowing I wouldn't be playing. It was an unusual feeling. Even so I'm happy Guus Hiddink brought me here despite the ban and let me become a part of the tournament."

Arshavin says Russia will have to be far tighter in the semifinal than they were against Spain in the teams' Group D opener, which Spain won 4-1, with David Villa grabbing a hat trick.

"We committed tactical and individual mistakes. If you give a shadow of a chance to a striker like David Villa or Fernando Torres, they will get you in trouble," said the 27-year-old who has 13 goals in 36 international appearances. "These guys can easily beat a defender one-on-one then score. That's exactly what they did."

But even if they play more tightly, Russia is not planning to rein in the attacking style that has won it so many fans in Austria and Switzerland.

"Russia will play their normal way. We don't play defensive football, we like to attack," Arshavin said. "But it doesn't all depend on us. Let's see how the Spaniards do. Maybe it makes it harder for us that we play such an open kind of football, because our opponent knows how to counterattack and they have some fast players. But we need to play our way instead of adapting to the opposition."

Arshavin, 27, was born in Leningrad, now St. Petersburg, and is a product of Zenit's respected youth program. He began his career as a right-sided midfielder, but midway through 2003 he was pushed into a wide position in the attack. He scored twice in his first match as a striker and has not looked back.

And as good as he was against the Netherlands, Arshavin says he can do better.

"I've played better games, so many times. It's just that the team is winning. I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary," he said. "Sometimes I score, sometimes I provide a pass. When you do it in the World Cup or European Championship, in front of a lot of people, there are bigger repercussions, so to speak."

With Barcelona rebuilding its squad, one repercussion could be Arshavin's dream coming true.

Did you even read article, he states its his dream is to play for barcelona.

Nobody in spain has tried to give him a offer.

Barcelona make Arshavin approach

Zenit St Petersburg say they have received an approach from Barcelona for Russia playmaker Andrei Arshavin.

The 27-year-old said earlier this week that playing for Barca, the club he supported as boy, is his "dream".

Barcelona vice president Ferran Soriano said: "We are interested in Arshavin. But it won't be easy to sign him because all teams want him now."

A Zenit St Petersburg official said: "Barcelona have made a formal proposal to Zenit for the purchase of Arshavin."

The forward has starred in Russia's run to the semi-finals at Euro 2008 and has also been linked with a move to the Premier League after asking to leave the Uefa Cup champions.

Barca now appear to head the list of suitors, but the Zenit official added: "We will only talk about this once Andrei returns to Zenit."

Barcelona say they have been monitoring Arshavin since earlier this year.

"Our interest isn't sudden since we have been following him with discretion for a few months now," said Soriano, who added that the Spanish giants had first noticed him in April when he played against German side Bayer Leverkusen in the Uefa Cup.

"We were under the impression that he played in midfield, but now we have seen that in big games, with his national team at the Euro, that he plays on the flank," Soriano told Mundo Deportivo.

"That's dispelled any doubt and this is the profile of a player we would like."

On Wednesday, Arshavin said: "Barcelona are my dream, I never thought I would have a genuine chance to play for the club.

"I have supported Barcelona all my life, let's see how the situation unfolds. For now I can't say anything for sure."

Arshavin had previously told BBC Radio 5 Live of his admiration for England's top level.

"I see English games on TV - it's the best league in the world," he said.

"I would like to change club. It's not a big difference between England and Spain. It's another level for me."

Zenit coach Dick Advocaat is already resigned to losing his star player.

"I can understand that he wants to play in Europe," Advocaat told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"I think he has some clubs in his mind, some in England and others in Spain, because they are the only two countries he would like to play in.

"If you lose one of your main players you don't like it as a coach but you have to be realistic."

Arshavin was suspended for Russia's opening two games at Euro 2008, but his return has propelled Guus Hiddink's side to a semi-final meeting with Spain, the team that beat them 4-1 in their first group game.

Adebayor's Milan Move Almost Done - Agent

The Togolese hitman’s future has been the source of intense speculation over the past two months, and it has emerged recently that both Barcelona and Milan are vying for his signature.

Barca officials were in London earlier this month to kick off negotiations for both Adebayor and Aliaksandr Hleb, but the Gunners rebuffed their initial bid to see what the Rossoneri had to offer.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani confirmed recently that Adebayor is right at the top of the club’s shortlist, ahead of the likes of Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto’o.

It is believed the 24-year-old is eager to follow ex-Gunner Mathieu Flamini to San Siro, unless Arsenal meet his wage demands of ₤120,000-per-week.

And his agent Vincenzo Morabito said on Studio Sport: “Arsenal are looking for Adebayor’s replacement. Until that search is over, the negotiations won’t reach the final stage, but I am fairly optimistic.

“What are the chances of Adebayor coming to Milan? I’d say today we are between 70 and 80 per cent.”

Candidates

Arsene Wenger will buy before selling, as the Arsenal boss will have precious few forwards to call upon should Adebayor leave before his replacement arrives.

The former Monaco manager is reported to have his eye on Dani Guiza and David Villa, both part of the Spain squad that will battle Russia tonight for a place in the Euro 2008 final.

However, Roque Santa Cruz, Peter Crouch and Mario Gomez are all on the shortlist too.

"The names being talked about are Peter Crouch, Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz and Germany forward Mario Gomez," added Morabito.

The Frenchman will no doubt be watching the clash in Vienna with intense interest, as he has made no secret of his admiration for Russia striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.

Wenger hailed the 26-year-old’s work-rate and physical presence, making him an ideal candidate to fill Adebayor’s boots.

Liverpool Win Race For Danish Wunderkind

The Reds reportedly beat out interest from Tottenham and Barcelona for the 17-year-old playmaker, who is clearly held in high esteem amongst both his club and suitors.

Indeed, Herfolge sports director Per Rud could hardly believe his ears when Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez personally rang up to make the offer.

"'This is Rafa' he said," Rud told the club's official websitet. "I almost thought it was a lie!

"We are pleased and proud that Nikola has gone to one of the world's best football clubs. We would have liked to have earned more money from Nikola but his injury and the fact that his contract expired in the New Year made it difficult.

"Liverpool acted extremely well in all cases and knew all the details," he added. "They have been fair in the process and could've waited until the New Year but they will have him over now."

Saric has been offered a three-year deal and is set to officially put pen-to-paper on the contract before the end of the week.

Keita Delighted With Barça Switch

The Mali international could not hide his delight at finally making his move from Sevilla official and explained that ever since he was young playing at Camp Nou had been on his wishlist.

Now he is aiming to help the Blaugrana to end their run without a trophy and is aiming to make his first term at the club a successful one.

“When I was a kid I dreamt of coming to Barça and I’m very happy that that dream has come true,” he pointed out, before adding “I’ll defend Barça’s colours with pride," Keita told reporters.

"The most important thing is winning trophies. The most important thing is the team and my personal goal is to win trophies. I hope that this season will be Barça’s best ever when it comes to winning titles.”

Pep Guardiola was also pleased with the new arrival and praised Keita's ability, although he did state that he would have to adapt to the team's style quickly.

“He is physically very strong, good in the air, and with good medium and long-distance shooting," the coach said. “The important thing is how he fits in with the rest of the team and I’m sure he’ll do that very well.”

Txiki Begiristain was also glad to welcome Keita to the club and the technical secretary explained that he thinks the new arrival will be a big hit at Barça.

“Keita is a player who reinforces the midfield and gives us balance. He can defend but also get up field so he’s a very complete player and we are hoping for a lot from him. I’m sure he’ll be very successful," he added.

Exclusive: Ronaldinho rejects Manchester City move

Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho has dealt a devastating blow to Manchester City's hopes of signing him by revealing he wants to stay at Barcelona.

City's Thai owner Thaksin Shinawatra was desperate to pull off a major transfer coup by landing Ronaldinho and was believed to be ready to pay him £200,000 a week.

But the 28-year-old has held talks with Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola and assured him that he is ready to clean up his act and fight for his future at the Nou Camp.

He was told publicly by new boss Guardiola last week that he - along with Samuel Eto'o and Deco - will not feature unless he stops his partying and returns to the form that saw him become the best player in the world.

Ronaldinho's brother and agent Roberto De Assis is still in dialogue with City but the chances of the deal are fading.

New City boss Mark Hughes is ready to spend £25million on two new strikers - but faces a battle to get rid of his unwanted front men.

City are close to completing the signing of CSKA Moscow's Brazilian striker Jo for £17m and have made an £8m bid for Real Zaragoza's Argentina forward Diego Milito, 29.

But Hughes is finding it hard to get rid of Rolando Bianchi and Georgios Samaras, who cost nearly £15m.

Cristiano Ronaldo's contract 'meaningless', concedes Carlos Queiroz

Manchester United assistant boss Carlos Queiroz raised the prospect of Cristiano Ronaldo leaving by claiming contracts mean nothing in modern-day football.

Ronaldo is one year into a lucrative five-year deal with United worth £110,000 a week but has set his heart on a move to Real Madrid this summer.

Although United have maintained their star player is not for sale at any price, Queiroz admitted: "Contracts are becoming meaningless."

Daring Mourinho Ready To Go Robben In Madrid

The ‘special one’ is looking for a winger as he continues to hunt down Europe’s elite players in order to fine tune his squad of big noise players.

The Nerazzurri have been pursuing Porto’s Ricardo Quaresma and Roma’s Amantino Mancini.

However, SportMediaset claims that the former Chelsea coach will give his former pupil a call if either of the aforementioned fail to move to his side.

Robben left Chelsea for Real against Jose Mourinho’s wishes and this was one of the starting blocks which led to some turbulence at Stamford Bridge during the Portuguese’s tenure at the helm as he did not want Robben to go.

He could now find himself re-united with the Dutch star at Inter. Porto and Roma’s hardball stance over their players has not gone down to well with the coach and Robben is the alternative.

Real Madrid could sell Robben to Inter if the offer is right and Cristiano Ronaldo’s possible move to the Bernabeu could make it so much easier for Mourinho to land his man.

Ronaldo Finds House In Spain

Indeed it has been reported in various Spanish and Madrid-based newspapers that the Portugal international has already chosen a house in the Spanish capital.

The Manchester United winger is suggested to have decided upon a property in the district of Morajela, an upmarket area, which close to where Madrid’s president Ramon Calderon and head coach Bernd Schuster live.

Former United and Madrid star David Beckham was located in the area for the majority of his four-year spell at the Bernabeu.

In what has been a sensationally protracted transfer saga, Ronaldo was quoted last week as saying that he would be prepared to upset Sir Alex Ferguson to secure what would be a world-record transfer to Madrid, underlining his determination to secure his dream move.

Ronaldo, who scored an incredible 42 goals in all competitions last season, stated after Portugal's elimination from the European Championship finals in Austria and Switzerland by Germany that he hoped to join the reigning Spanish champions, although a formal bid is yet to materialise with Calderon saying that his side can do nothing unless United initiate a move.

Hopes of United fans who are still hoping that the player stays at Old Trafford were handed a boost this morning however, after it was reported by The Sun that Ronaldo is definitely prepared to return to Manchester for pre-season training, after his three-week holiday to Italy comes to an end.

However, the report did state that although he would be fulfilling his contractual obligations with the European Champions, his desire for a move certainly hasn’t been dampened.

Would be good if he stays but what if he ends up having another year like last season, will be a waste of space on the pitch.

If he leaves I would see him either staying in spain or going to italy
