Oh please yes. Dubai international something or other save us :D

Man City must have been sold dirt cheap. Liverpool is a much better prospect than City. No offense City fans

City fans??? Not yet, but expect a lot of them around your local mall soon, in their sky blue shirts, bragging how they have supported City from the League 1 days...

Keegan not sacked, say Newcastle
The future of Kevin Keegan and the manager's role at Newcastle United is unclear after the club insisted it had not sacked him.

BBC Sport understands Keegan, 57, had left the club following a series of meetings with the board.

But in a statement, the club said: "Kevin has raised a number of issues.

"We'd like to stress Kevin is extremely important both now and in the future and want him to continue to play an instrumental role as manager."

However, the statement did not go into detail as to whether Keegan had left the club in the preceding hours as BBC Sport had been led to understand.

One of the main areas of dispute is believed to be the future of controversial midfielder Joey Barton, a player who Keegan has strongly supported.

Barton was recently in jail for 74 days for an assault conviction and will also be attending a personal hearing on Friday after admitting a Football Association violent conduct charge.

BBC Radio 5 Live commentator Ian Dennis said: "My understanding is that Kevin Keegan has fallen foul of the board over the future of Joey Barton. Obviously he remains loyal to Barton."

Tuesday's events came as something of a surprise given Newcastle's positive start season after picking up a point at Manchester United and then beating Bolton prior to Saturday's defeat at Arsenal.

Outside St James' Park, Newcastle fans made their feelings known about the managerial speculation, with a large majority in support of Keegan and calling for owner Mike Ashley to step down.

It was a very different reaction for Ashley from the fans in June last year when he was deemed the club's saviour after completing a £135m takeover.

He then sacked Sam Allardyce as manager at the start of 2008 after a run of poor results and shocked the football world by bringing back Keegan for a second spell in charge.

The former Newcastle striker's first spell as manager was between 1992 and 1997, when he saved the Magpies from dropping to the third tier of English football and almost guided them to the Premier League title in 1997.

But this time round, rumours of discontent began to emerge when Ashley brought in Dennis Wise and Tony Jimenez in positions which gave them powers over transfer dealings.

"Dennis Wise, as people have mentioned, came in," former Newcastle winger Chris Waddle told BBC 5 Live. "Then coach Chris Hughton came in and you thought, 'Where did Kev pick him from or was he picked for him?'.

"It has never been a happy relationship."

Keegan's relationship with Ashley was also not helped when in May the manager said he did not think the club could become a top-four club.

The transfer window saw the arrival of six players at Newcastle, with five players leaving the club.

James Milner was one of those who left last week, transferred to Aston Villa for a fee of £12m, with Keegan admitting it had been difficult to see the 22-year-old leave.

Keegan walked out on Newcastle in 1997, after his first spell, stating "I feel I have taken the club as far as I can". He also resigned from his post as England coach in 2000.

Yeah, I guess, there will always be those that jump on the wagon. I have been a die hard for ages, so I dont need to justify myself as a Chelsea supporter...

I love my clients though, most of them claiming to be die hard Man U fans, and when I ask them what position Fletcher plays for example, its either striker, central defence and one was even adamant that he is the goalie...

They all have their nice shirts with Beckham on the back though...

Imagine they got both of them...
Madrid Rejected A Very Ruud Offer

There’s no denying that the Abu Dhabi United Investment Group is planning for previously unfancied Manchester City to take over the footballing world.

Their intentions and impact were made clear immediately after taking over the Eastland club when they stunned football fans by signing Robinho from Real Madrid minutes before the summer transfer window closed for a British record ₤32.5 million transfer fee.

And just to further highlight how serious they are to take City to the very top, it has been reported that the investment group, headed by Sulaiman Al-Fahim, also tried to sign Ruud van Nistelrooy from Los Merengues by offering the Spanish giants an “extraordinary amount” of money.

Although the exact figure is unknown, Madrid-based daily Marca reported that Al-Fahim handed a cheque to president, Ramón Calderón and sporting director, Predrag Mijatovic but the Bernabéu hierarchy did not fall for the temptation as they rejected the offer.

It is also believed that the ‘White House’ was also approached by Zenit St. Petersburg for the services of Gonzalo Higuaín. A €25 million bid was tabled for the 20 year old but Madrid also bluntly turned down the offer

NEw FIfa Rankings have been released:

There have not been too many changes in the top 10, as Euro 2008 champions Spain remain at the top of the tree. Italy and Germany have swapped places, with the Azzurri moving up to second despite their disappointing 2-2 friendly draw against Austria last month.

Places four to nine are as they were in August, with Holland and Croatia completing the top five, and South American giants Brazil and Argentina still struggling in sixth and seventh respectively.

Turkey are the biggest movers, as they go up three places to break into the top 10. England's international misery continues, as they drop another position, and are now down in 15th.

Current top 20:

1 Spain

How did Liverpool end up 4th :confused:

His transfer took place outside of any transfer window as he wasnt been purchased from any club, so it would probably be counted in the last transfer window as a liverpool purcahase.

But he was signned in the january transfer window.
We only signed keane for 20 Million, the rest were three cheap signings. The fact that we are 4th on that list is questionable..
