Summer Transfers

I think one more season without any silverware and his going to leave.
Funny how many players are voicing their "dreams" to play in La liga.:D

Yup - i predict a great season for La Liga in the CL this season to shut up the critics.

Im hating listening to biased English commentators. If only i could speak Spanish :D

haha..We'll see. the English club's have dominated the Champions league of late.
I'm sure La Liga is a great league but for me The English league is the best in the world. And they are backing that theory up with impressive performances in the CL:)

I think La liga has shown they the strongest in Eurpoe countless times even breaking records along the way like first league to win both champs and uefa cup/first league to have 2 teams from the same league in finals.

With the quality in both cups this year I wouldnt be suprised if they take both cups again.

I agree that English clubs have performed of late BUT if u look at the stats, La Liga clubs have ALWAYS performed.

So for the past two seasons, the EPL has had some good success. Its time for La Liga to restore the power.

You are all wrong , Serie A sides have dominanted the Champs League over the years , with AC Milan the most successful side recently ie last 6 / 7 years.Overall Milan the greastest team ever , its facts

Facts are that Madrid are the most succesful team! THAT IS FACT!!!
What are u smoking :D

9 times CL winners!

we not talking champions league only but all international trophies , see wikipedia for FACTS !!!!!!!!!!

Actually Madrid have more champs leagues and uefa cups than ac milan. The only reason milan have more international trophies is becuase they won the supercup (game between champs league winners and uefa cup winners) 5 times.

The supercup was not around when real madrid won most of their champs leagues trophies.

Also the greatest team ever is Boca juniors with the most trophies international/domestic...which Barca beat a few months ago.

and thats a fact......

Madrid Line Up Benzema Bid

It was a rather quiet summer as far as Real Madrid were concerned but rather than rue missed signings the chiefs in the Bernabéu now seem to be focusing on 2009, with Karim Benzema as priority number one this time.

The Frenchman has for a couple of years been regarded as one of the brightest young talents in Europe but despite the interest of a number of clubs this summer he decided to stay with Ligue 1 Champions Lyon.

The main reason for that might not have been his own personal resolve, but rather that of club president Jean Michel Aulas who is known to strike a hard bargain.

Aulas was the man who made Real Madrid pay €26 million for Mahamadou Diarra and who also held out on Michael Essien until Chelsea stumped up a larger fee. This summer he was in no mood to see his top player leave although the signs are he could be allowed to go next year.

The president is believed to have told Benzema that if he stayed this season then he would seriously consider selling him next year and would study closely the offers available. The player for his part is believed to have said, 'If they convince my president, then to play in Madrid would be a dream.'

Thus it is Aulas who is at the centre of the deal and it is unlikely that he will accept an offer of less than €50 million if he does decide to let Benzema go. This sum would not be a stumbling block for Real Madrid, who are believed to have €140 million available for signings, and would also mean they could pursue other targets.

The good news for Real Madrid fans too is that Benzema is not just a target of the directors but apparently Bernd Schuster is a big fan too, meaing that the club will be fully united behind a deal, for once.

JOHN MIKEL OBI STATEMENT
Posted on: Fri 10 Oct 2008
Chelsea Football Club has issued a claim at the High Court in relation to the transfer of Jon Mikel Obi in June 2006.

The claim is against FC Lyn Oslo and Morgen Andersen and follows the criminal conviction in Norway of Lyn's former chief executive officer Morgan Andersen.

It is for the entire £16 million fee paid by Chelsea for the player as it is now clear following Andersen's conviction that the transfer was based on the fraudulent misrepresentation that Mikel had an employment contract with Lyn.

At the time of the transfer, Chelsea, Lyn and Manchester United agreed that the fees paid would be in final settlement of the transfer, any claims related to it and that no further action or comment regarding the transfer would be made.

Chelsea has written to Lyn to make clear that because the transfer was based on a fraudulent misrepresentation, now proven by a court of law, the settlement previously agreed is not binding.

Chelsea is in contact with Lyn and looks forward to working positively with them to resolve the claim promptly.

Chelsea would like to make clear that this legal action is against Lyn and Morgen Andersen.

Beckham to join AC Milan on loan
David Beckham has agreed to move to AC Milan on loan in January, the Italian club has told BBC Sport.

The England midfielder, 33, plays for Los Angeles Galaxy, whose Major League Soccer season ends this weekend.

Speaking on Wednesday morning, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani said: "Beckham has chosen Milan. He'll stay here in Milan on loan for a few months.

"Our squad is ultra-competitive and it will remain this way but Beckham is something different and intriguing."

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star is eager to stay in England coach Fabio Capello's plans during the MLS close season.

Beckham needs two more appearances to become England's most-capped outfield player, taking him past Bobby Moore, who played 108 times for his country.

Italian Capello has made it clear he will only select players who are active and in form.

LA Galaxy, who had previously insisted that Beckham would not be able to move to another club on loan during their close season, will play exhibition matches in Australia and New Zealand in December and the midfielder will obviously be the big draw.

He joins a stellar squad at Milan, including Brazilians Ronaldinho, ***a and Alexandre Pato, as well as Italian internationals Andrea Pirlo and Gennaro Gattuso.

Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear he would welcome Beckham's arrival.

"For me, it will be a pleasure. Beckham is a serious athlete, a great professional," he stated.

"If he'll be available for us, we'll be very happy."

Beckham would be eligible to play for Milan both domestically and in the Uefa Cup.

Tottenham sack Ramos and Comolli

Tottenham Hotspur have sacked coach Juande Ramos, along with sporting director Damien Comolli.

Spurs have also parted company with first team coaches Gus Poyet and Marcos Alvarez, following the team's long string of poor results.

The club also confirmed that Portsmouth have agreed to allow Harry Redknapp to talk to Tottenham about the vacancy.

Backroom staff-members Clive Allen and Alex Inglethorpe will take charge of Sunday's match against Bolton.

The club confirmed the clear-out in a statement on their website.

Spurs are bottom of the Premier League after taking just two points from their opening eight matches this season.

Ramos' last game in charge was Thursday's defeat to Udinese in the Uefa Cup.

About bloody time.

Lost my respect for Redknapp though, he says he can finally manage a team of big players.

So I guess winning the FA cup with Pompey, having some fairly big players, was crap?

I bet their sh*t form will continue and they gonna still drop and ya Ramos must feel like a idiot leaving Sevilla.
