Rafa comments on Heskey deal

Liverpool, 08:15, January 8, 2009

Rafa Benitez has all but ruled out a move to Anfield for Wigan striker Emile Heskey and a move out of the club for Daniel Agger.
As the season enters it's second phase Benitez has declared himself satisfied with the squad he has and says he does not see any players either coming in or going out, except possibly Jermaine Pennant who will be sold if the right offer comes in.

That rules out a switch for former striker Heskey and a move for Agger who has been courted by AC Milan.

Benitez told the Post: "We finished 2008 very well, we played with style and have scored a lot of goals. I am very pleased and happy with the situation and hope it will be the same in the new year.

"We have other players apart from Torres coming back from injury. There is Skrtel, Aurelio and Arbeloa all fit now. It will be like signing three new players.

"We do not need to go into the transfer market, we are certainly not desperate to do so.

"If we find we need something we will try, but it is always hard in this window and very expensive.

"But we are in a good position and I am happy to use the players we have now plus the ones returning from injury."

Another Man City Transfer story.......

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_4764020,00.html

David Trezeguet's agent claims Manchester City have expressed an interest in his client.

The Frenchman is currently on the books of Italian giants Juventus and is regarded as one of Europe's most potent attacking weapons.

He has proven to be a consistent goalscorer at both domestic and international level throughout his career and has featured on the radar of English clubs in the past.

The 31-year-old is currently sidelined with a knee injury sustained in September but, with a return to action expected to be only a month away, his representative has suggested that City were still keen to strike a deal.

Do you guys think City will end up signing someone big this transfer window?

Ya, i think they will. Someone will go there, but not a big star. A decent star ya, but not someone on the same level like Robinho.

I wonder if he feels stupid sometimes playing for them.

If Man City can grab atleast 3-4 top stars...its going to be crunch time!

hmmm if the price is right I think juve may just sell Trezeguet ;) with their current attacking force Trezeguet's apperances may be limited

I don't think Man City will bring in anybody big. Santa Cruz or bellamy maybe but definately not the likes of Messi and Villa.

BREAKING NEWS:
Manchester City Open Talks To Sign K aka From Milan
The world's richest club have sent their chief executive to Milan to talk over the possibility of signing the former World Player of the Year...

A few weeks K.a.k.a was unhappy at Milan cos of Ronaldinho. He was forced to play in another position.

i wonder if he is that unhappy that he will even consider this move.

... 100 Million Euros :D That will make him move

City have a pretty decent squad as it is. I have no idea why they are great one week and terrible the next...Not sure bringing in one star for ridiculous amounts of money is the solution...

They're also interested in bringing in Upson, Bellamy and Scott Parker. Proven Premier league quality and most importantly consistent performers

Edit: Can't show picture because the word *** is in the address, that's going a bit overboard. Pity.

Interesting. Well, seeing as the owners have 12 billion pounds, I guess they can get who they want, when they want them. And if that does't work, they could always buy the other 19 teams in the league :p

Lol true.

Still it's not all plain sailing. All those bids( not sure about Upson though) including one for Santa Cruz have been rejected. The other clubs know they can milk them for over the odds payments. Then again those clubs are dealing with the credit crunch themselves :o
