Hi Guys,

I have succeeded in creating a mirror for some Sun Microsystems products (Java, OpenSolaris, VirtualBox). It can be found at ftp://ftp.uwc.ac.za/sun/. I'm still in the process of updating it and it also may not be the fastest mirror out there as it is using my university's bandwidth. As you may or may not already know, OpenOffice and MySql can already be downloaded locally from http://mirror.ac.za. Just thought I would let you guys know, what is the point of a mirror if it won't be used right:rolleyes:

thanks for this, was actually looking for a local mirror the other day but couldn't find one.

I've just downloaded firefox, thunderbird, sunbird and the jdk from the uwc mirror, was getting pretty good speeds on 4mbit :)

Cool man, anytime. I don't know what the versions are of those items you downloaded. Hope it's the latest.

Cool man, no problem. Spread the word!

Unfortunately the only Vbox version that works for me is 2.0.4, later versions give me an error when I try to save to a shared folder in photoshop CS3 using XP SP3..
