Please get hold of the sunday Times of Aug 31 2003. turn to page 11 of the money section, and read the Telkom bit.
Form your own opinion, and if you wish to add to me letter as listed below, mail it to [email protected]
My Email to Sunday Times:
It was with a disapproving eye that I read the coverage of Telkom. Please remember the following:
Telkom has flouted the rulings of ICASA in the past when it came to tariff adjsutments.
The ADSL service is overpriced and underporferming, a special website was put up to have consumers complain about it.
Please go to http://www.myadsl.co.za
ICASA is so toothless that it does not even respond in writing to complaints about Telkom. Couls someone please investigate whether collusion exists between Telkom and ICASA due to the non-implementation of a SNO?
Why are only Telkom modems and routers ICASA approved items for the ADSL services. These units are in effect rebranded Marconi items, when kit like Cisco and Netgear are not?
Telkom is strangling the development of new businesses (SME sector) by its incredibly expensive services charges.
The telecoms cost in SA is prohibitive to foreign investment and empowerment deals.
I firmly believe Telkom executives are slowly but surely realising that when a SNO is introduced they will have to spend lots of money trying to keep their current customer base.
A Disgruntled ADSL user.
