I always use Bio Crystal powder, but I ran out and we happened to be in Checkers so looked for it, but seems Checkers, or at least one by us don't stock it. The Finish brand too expensive in my view. Then saw Sunlight brand. Did not know they do dishwasher detergent. I was not in the mood to stop at Spar also just to get Bio Crystal so bought the Sunlight. Also a bit Cheaper than the Bio Crystal. Seems to do a pretty good job in case any of you looking for a cheaper alternative.

If you're in Gauteng, Frontline Hyper always have Finish on "promo".
Way cheaper than anywhere else.

I prefer the powers anyway so I'll give it a shot if I see it in the store.

EDIT: Not currently listed as available at our local checkers but they do have Super Brite - 1kg for R69.99.

Bought my second one today. I am very happy with it. I use a little and all comes out perfectly clean and glasses streak free. I do use Mr sheen rinse liquid though and the machine has salt in it. I recommend this as cheaper alternative to anyone using the expensive brands.

Hmmm,. Maybe I must start my dishwasher again sometime just to get some fluids through the thing.

No point if you don't have dishes to wash.

The weirdest place to save money.

Finish Quantum Ultra tablets en klaar, buy in bulk if you want to save.

Urg...it used to be just over R60.00 for a bottle and now it is just over R70.00

Still cheaper than Biocrystal though which also seem to have had a price increase. Seems you turn your back for a sec and boom...price up by R10.00

I find Finish Max works great. 99.5% of the time all the dishes/pans/cups are spotless. I think we always used Calgonit and Finish. It's an ancient 20 year old Bosch dishwasher too.

For washing dishes by hand, Sunlight.

For laundry, Skip.

Rest is garbage. Omo, Persil, etc... no good.

They often have sales so we stock up then. Dishwasher tablets are a waste of money and not nearly as efficient.

I agree. They are expensive and especially because I have a desktop dishwasher, I dont need to use as much detergent that a tablet has. With powder I can put in as much or as little as I want. Also, you can add it to the prewash thingy if you want, though I seldom do this.
