the problem was sorted soon after by a port reset. the upshot of it all was confirmation that it is an ADSL2 exchange. though the dude i spoke to had no clue as to when it might get upgraded.

interestingly, I called in the fault at about the time I posted this last night. This morning by 10am there were technicians there.

I wonder if this is the reason i couldnt connect to my MWEB Uncapped account this morning. The DSL Connection was UP on the router homepage before i left home this morning but just wouldnt connect to the ISP. Im also on the 011 807 exchange.

haven't had a chance to check. phoned 10219 and the person i spoke to asking if the exchange had been upgraded didn't seem to have a clue.

Perfect as I am getting MAX out of my 384k line...
