For the longest time I have been connecting at 4096/512.
I am aware of my distance from the exchange, approximately 4km but I wanted to test what highest speed I could sync. For a sweet blissful month I could sync at 6144/635.
Suddenly I am having sync issues, best I am getting so far is 5413/634 but by the time I post this, it would probably have synced lower again.
I did call out Telkom and the Technician that was here explained that the building is old, cables could have corroded and I should consider myself lucky to have synced at 6144. I believe him because just outside my flat is an uncovered junction box that the complex kids mess around with every holiday break without fail. That junction box isn't the only one so It was not hard to be convinced, in fact I knew what the technician would say even bofore he arrived to investigate.
However, I can't silence a voice deep down that says what if you're not the only one in that exchange having problems because, well it sucks being the only one.
So I have to ask, has anyone else who connects to this exchange been experiencing something similar ?
