The last 2 to 3 weeks the internet in Sunnydale, Fish Hoek (021-785) has been VERY intermittent. Speaking to neighbours, it seems like an issue in our suburb. I have phoned Telkom 4 times and visited the store twice and found this process VERY FRUSTRATING - no one knows what is going on and no one seems skilled enough to help me. Each time i phoned, the telkom 'expert' took me through different processes to reset up internet ... but nothing helped. I also have been told that it was due to an exchange upgrade (but the telkom site says no work is going on in our suburb) or it is an issue with international servers and not telkom and that this is effecting the entire SA (although i have no issues with internet at work).
When this issue started I was with Telkom, DSL Faster 4 mbps capped at 10G. I moved to Mweb to an uncapped package with 4 mbps, but this didn't help because i am still on the same faulty line. This issue has become a problem all day, not just at specific times.
A person who works in the internet industry tells me the issue is a fault at the exchange in our suburb (something corroded), but Telkom doesn't seem to be doing anything about it and NO ONE seems to know what to do.
