I have a 8kw Sunsynk inverter with a 5kw Battery and 7 550w panels. Entire house runs via the inverter. No essential / non essential loads.

We draw about 0.5kwh during the day and at night when geyser, our fryer etc is off.

I have setup it up to use solar during the day and charge up battery first. Then at night it will use the battery down to 52% to give us some headroom for load shedding. Once it hits 52% it pulls power from the grid and runs the house.

Please see attached screenshot of my configuration.

My Question is

What settings do I need to configure to start exporting solar to the grid during the day once my battery is full, house is running and Im generating excess solar?

My thinking here is when we are allowed to I would be generating about 3kw of excess power per hour during the day and would like to export it.

“When we are allowed to” might be awhile depending where in SA you are. You’ll also need special meter for it and such and I think for most cases it doesn’t make sense financially to do it.

You might want to give this a read

Be careful before attempting to export. Assuming you have prepaid, most prepaid meters will either trip or see feedback as normal usage and charge you for exporting!

You need to have a special meter installed and the rates isn't that great (depending on your municipality)

The cheating way is if you have a old spinning disk meter.

It’s not about what you need to configure but rather all the arrangement you need to make to get paid.

And the super expensive meter replacement.
