Sunsynk/Victron vs others

I went with Sunsynk, for various reasons. Yes I could have saved quite a bit by going cheaper. The Kodaks were at the time I was looking: R12K (5KwH) vs Sunsynk R25k(5kWh) R34K(8kWh). But my system is designed to be upgradeable in future as my budget allows me. So far I have not felt stage 6 and as I am typing my wellpoint pump is running, all three fridges are on, and I am using my desktop pc right now. My area is currently being load shedded.
 
Amazing to see Sunsynk and Victron lumped together. Some blue team people are not going to be impressed.

Jokes aside, despite owning a small Vistron ESS at the moment, I think SunSynk is better value for money. My FIL is currently running a 3 Phase 12kw SunSynk and besides a few teething issues which are more to do with learning to live with an ESS, he is very happy thus far. We are moving in November and the current plan is to get an 8kW SunSynk although I may look at the 16kW to give even more headroom. I love our Victron system, the little 3kVa inverter is a little tank that just keeps going, but the cost/complexity of the inverter + MPPT + control unit is difficult to justify over a SunSynk 'all-one-one' system.

Imagine if you could feed into the grid when the power comes back and get paid R4/kWh which is cheaper than Eskom diesel OCGT's.

The thing throttling down when it gets hot not an issue?

the modularity of the victron is also a bonus for some - if one component dies then you only need to replace that one, vs SS where you may need the whole inverter to go in / be replaced

Sure, it also has the benefit of scalability, say you need more PV you just install another MPPT or more inverter capacity another inverter. This comes at a cost of course.

I haven't noticed it to be honest, I have got temperature warnings a few times in mid summer when we say run the dish washer or washing machine, but they normally clear in a minute or two so I presume the internal fans take care of it.
