I can't view the video, but what is your take on it? Personally after reading a bit more about it I've come to the conclusion that there isn't much difference and it's just a marketing gimmick. It's not even really listed on wikipedia.

"3. The screen. We ragged on the Bionic's screen pretty hard. The RAZR's is a lot better. It's not perfect, but it's better. The new Droid's screen is Super AMOLED Advanced. What does the "Advanced" mean? Seriously, nobody has any idea, which means it's probably just marketing speak. "Advanced" aside, its Super AMOLEDness delivers deep blacks and vivid, accurate colors. There's still some pixilation, though. In fact, it's almost as severe as the Bionic's, but with the increased saturation and straight-up deliciousness, it doesn't draw your attention quite as much. It's certainly not as sharp as the 720p display on the HTC
Rezound or the iPhone 4S' Retina, but it certainly won't make your eyes bleed."

"Super AMOLED Advanced
We first heard about the "Super AMOLED Advanced" display in October 2011 when Motorola announced their Droid RAZR smartphone - which has a 4.3" Super AMOLED Advanced display featuring qHD (960× 540). We are still not sure what does this new display brand means - and what is difference between it and the Super AMOLED and Super AMOLED Plus displays. In some marketnig material it is claimed that the Advanced display is 25% more power efficient, but we're not sure to which display they are comparing... Perhaps this is simply a Super AMOLED display and Motorola added the "Advanced" part?"

Super Amoled Plus is superior to Amoled Advanced.

It seems Motorola's advertising is a little bit misleading, as they say you get 33% more pixels than the SGS2. This is because the Razr uses a screen res of 960 X 540, while the SGS2 uses 800 X 480.

But here's the rub : Super Amoled Plus uses 3 sub pixels to make one pixel, while Amoled Advanced only uses 2.

So what you're saying is Super Amoled Plus has a higher pixel density than the Amoled Advanced?
Interesting.

And yes, that's what I picked up too. It seemed strange that Samsung doesn't even mention Amoled Advanced or an explanation as to the features thereof and difference between the former and the latter. And I wouldn't say 'kind of misleading', I would say 'blatently misleading'. Motorola is going the Apple route. They move a few million units after going hiatus from the smartphone market for a while and now they're cocky. Typical.

I think its a bit of panic that's setting in on Motorola's side.

Same theory I have for Apple's decision to sue Samsung - they saw a Galaxy S2 close-up & realize they are gonna start losing market share + their iphones are now looking way overpriced.

HTC and SonyEricsson must also be feeling the heat.

I can never use a phone that doesn't have a Super AMOLED screen again.

Yup, fully agree with you.

Saw a HTC Sensation next to a SGS2 and the Sensation's screen looked "washed out". Also viewing angles on the SGS2 stays perfect from any angle.

*I dont mean any disrespect to Sensation owners, its still a brilliant phone. Just my personal observations.

Haha when I look at other phones I always notice how dull the LCDs look. The retina on the iPhones/iPods is also excellent, just too small for my tastes.

Oh well, the Super AMOLED HD on the new Nexus should blow everything away.

Here is the comparison between the S2 and the Nexus

The S2 has a PPI of 217 and the Nexus of 316. If we use the sub-pixel explanation above would that mean the "real" pixel density is still higher on the S2. Regardless, I think I will wait for the Nexus.

The Nexus uses a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Think it's the first 4.65'' display on a mobile phone with that high resolution.

It will be a fantastic phone to own and use, enjoy!

However, few things that I miss....no SD card slot, no FM Radio (I am actually using this a lot lately) and a poorer camera.

Galaxy nexus also uses a less beefy graphics processor which is a bit worrying.

My 2cents, The iPhone 4s display knocks the socks off all the other competition! The PPI is amazing.

LOL.....the iPhone 4S display is made by Toshiba. They have never been anywhere near the forefront of screen technology.

Enough said.
