this test done on galaxy s2. there's nothing wrong with my phone cos i tested with MTN and getting almost 6Mb/s :wtf:

These are shocking speeds but that's Vodacom for you

Download G-Mon or OpenSignal from the Google Play store. Check your signal levels on 3G. They might be too low to give you good speeds. Otherwise walk outside to get better signal levels and test again. Might be poor indoor penetration.

Otherwise the tower that is serving you might be congesting with too many users and the transmission backbone needs to be upgraded.

Best is to log a query/complaint with Vodacom Customer Care.

Vodacom's HSPA is poor compared to MTN... In my area I struggle to get 2Mbps on Vodacom whereas I consistently exceed 5Mbps on MTN.

I would switch to MTN for my iPhone 5 but their ridiculous LTE rates are what is keeping me rooted to Vodacom for now.

Edit: For some reason I am now peaking at 11 Mbps down on Vodacom while my average has improved to about 8Mbps.
