For those of you that use SuperC, what settings do you select to get good quality at 700MB?

A friend gave me a video at 700MB and I think it's 'avi with XviD - but I thought H264 was the same size - yet better quality?

I've got a .vob file (5GB) that I want to convert to something smaller but decent. I tried selecting 'avi', 'H264.AVC' and 'mp3' - but I'm still getting a reasonably large file (1GB and still encoding)

I've also selected 'MEncoder' as opposed to 'FFmpeg' (dunno what this is)

Hard setting these things when I dunno what they mean :/

I've also tried to get a dvd movie down to the 700mb size you can download from the net. I'd suggest checking doom9 but it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too in depth.

A layman will drown.

Handbrake can compress to an output size and auto calculate the bitrates.
If you gonna play the video on a DivX player, I'd suggest using XVid but if it's just for PC, then the H264 (mp4 file) is better quality

I also use FairUse Wizard but I found it gave me issues with some DVD's.
Especially the ones that I copied with Nero Recode (where I've excluded extras & menu's etc) or CloneDVD

I'll try both programs when I'm home.

Thanks !
