Hi All

Hope someone could shed some light on my issue.
I have a fiber connection with Supersonic (200mbps up and down ) and about a week ago I'm unable to make a Vpn Connection based in Europe.
We make use of Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client to make the vpn connection.

Also noticed that online gaming like Apex legends is also not playable at all and this is really frustrating for the kids because of the December school holiday.

I did try all support channels at Supersonic but they are of no help at all.

As a test I loaded a Mobicel V6_1 router with a Telkom prepaid sim and loaded some data.
I connected my pc to the Mobicel wifi router and I was able to access my company vpn with out any issues.

Ask the kids to test there online games and they were able to game online but with some latency issues , but that is expected form such a simple cellular device.

Question is what could be causing my Fiber not to be able to do vpn and online gaming but this simple 4g device can.

Any ideas ?

Could be routing related issue. Do a traceroute to the IP in question to see if the destination is reachable.

Hi VlakVark_ZA

Did a test as you suggested.
Destination is reachable
But getting different hop counts from fiber vs 4 g
See below:

With Fiber connected

With Telkom 4 g router (this one works when making use of vpn )

@SauRoNZA
With telnet on 443
I do get some connection but no information is displayed.

This happens on both connection (fiber and 4g)
Could be that the vpn server does not allow telnet connections.

If it just says “connected” then it means the port is working and open.

Then your problem is likely somewhere else.

This is of course going by the massive assumption your AnyConnect is in fact using 443.

Hi not to hijack your thread but I have also been having the same issues your kids have been having especially with Apex Legends among other games. Have they experienced trouble logging into games and disconnecting from PSN if they're on console constantly as well? Myself and at least 3 other friends also with SuperSonic have been experiencing the same also since 1 week ago with no help from them at all

@Chibles This is exactly what's currently happening with my Play Station as well. Online gaming is currently not possible at all.

Thank you, I'm not sure what the hell happened last week and I'm not too tech savvy when it comes to routing and such but its impossible to do anything on Playstation on any game as it disconnects to any server including PSN. There's been no news from them about this problem so it's all up in the air with what the problem is
