I applied for a fibre connection via Supersonic on the 19th of March 2024 - was under the impression that this would be quick and easy as there was already a Vumatel connection box at the premises, but unfortunately NO ONT.

After 10 days, eventually Vumatel installed an ONT. Then we had to wait for Supersonic to do their part. Supersonic was to provide a router as part of their service. However, I was notified that they dont have any available and are awaiting a new batch. No timelines were provided.

Since I have an existing router, I was trying to make contact with Supersonic support to verify settings etc. This seems to be IM-****ING-POSSIBLE. Their WhatsApp support line and even telephone support is non-existent.

Very frustrated, I clicked on the order CANCEL button on their web page - just to see what happens - WOW my order was cancelled immediately. When eventually trying to get response from Supersonic's Whatsapp support line, their answer was that my order is now cancelled and they cannot help further.

I then applied for the service from AFRIHOST - got my order done immediately (as I am used to the excellent service from Afrihost). However, Afrohost does not seem to be able to activate the line with Vumatel - apparently the line is assigned to Supersonic and will have to wait some time until the "contract" expires.

What a joke Vumatel is !! I had a 100 times better experience with Openserve in the past.

And there seems to be NO way to make direct contact with Vumatel.

@AfriNatic @Afrigirl They should be able to assist you, they will work something out, try sending them a PM and make sure they both added to the PM

Hi.

May I please have your order number.
An immediate release is required, Supersonic needs to release it. The line does stay active for 30 days with the fibre network provider.

Why the F did you sign up with supersonic...
I did not know any better - saw their add on IG and thought they seem to be OK.

This is not for myself - helping out my sister who lost her job and her daughter is a student who requires the internet access - was trying to go for the cheapest option .

Now I know better - should warn other customers somehow.

You registered on here in Aug 2003 and never heard/read about Supersonic?
