DSTV now want us to link an account or smartcard to our Supersport profile.

Has anyone actually got the web form to work ?

I registered 2 days back. It worked, but is disappointing to say the least. I did manage to catch a bit of the live cricket but it buffered like a bitch on a 2mg connection :wtf:

I logged in again (no live streams) but i saw there is a menu that said athletics highlights, clicking on those menus results in everything but athletics highlights. The menu 'programmes' are few and far between. Hardly worth the mission IMO. I thought it may be a nice to have on XBMC for some live sports every now and then but the buffering kills it, i presume a 4mg connection is best for this shambles service.

I stream from many places. SuperSport have the worst streaming. Even on a 6mb line its terrible quality and buffers too much.

Likewise, been streaming loads of stuff from 'free cable' via xbmc, works like a charm using a proxy server. But going with a direct connection to supersport and the wheels fall off completely! Shoddy setup at Supersport methinks!

Does anybody knows whether Supersport is planning Chromecast support in the near future?

Is there any place you can stream MotoGP and SBK? I have XBMC installed on my PC but I can't seem to find stuff like that.

Sorry for the hijack.

Anyone had problems recently with their account unvalidating a smart card?
I haven't been able to use SS streaming as it says I don't have a valid smart card although I do.

Is it just me or has supersport improved the quality of their streams? I was watching the French open on the weekend and the quality was pretty decent.

Very much so! F1 on Sunday night was great quality, whereas in the past it was like watching massive pixels moving around the screen!

I have had numerous problems like this! You will need to phone the call centre to get it resolved.

I was forced to update the ios supersport app on Saturday. streams would start but then stop immediately. after the update it worked again. fsuckn dstv. I don't like updating app from companies that sneak changes in when you don't expect it. or don't inform you. yes my tinfoil hat is on dammit.

I must say, it's been looking really good lately. Even bumping the quality up to HD if the connection is decent a la YouTube.

Still needs a little work but I'm slowly making it my default streaming solution

There is a massive improvement with the online streams now. It also uses adaptive streams now so will change quality if there isn't enough bandwidth. Haven't tested the mobile apps yet, but last time I tried to watch on Android is was unwatchable due to the constant stop/starting.

Yep noticed the mobile app issues too. Hopefully they'll iron out those issues before the UCL group stages kick off.

Ive streamed the Tri-series cricket all the games now and its 100%! No buffering good quality.

And here I started another threat without noticing this one. Definitely an improvement in streaming. Im using the supersport app on my S4 via 2mb adsl wifi. Quality drops automatically when I go further away from the router. At last somebody at Multchoice woke up.

It is much better! I would like it if I could choose the quality though rather than having it automatically select based on my connection speed
