Supersport stream kills our internet

Is there something specific about Supersport streaming that means it devours bandwidth? My bro can usually stream netflix while I Netflix/youtube on my pc, but when he streams Supersport it gets so bad that I can hear his stream downstairs freeze and as it does, it kills whatever I am doing on my PC (listening to music, surfing, streaming, whatever).

I'm on 10 meg ADSL.

Supersport doesn't go much above 5mbps in my experience

My bro streams it from his laptop to our Chromecast. Maybe it's something to do with our router...

Ah. Yeah your wifi is congested most likely
