A friend and myself recently started a pc company that we run part time while I am still studying. Were doing better that expected and thinking about setting up shop next year when I'm done and we can both work on it full time, I need some advice on suppliers from people with a bit of experience.

At the moment I'm only registered with Rectron but I am going to Esquire this afternoon to open an account there as well because Rectron only stock Gigabyte(good but expensive).

Which suppliers do you recommend and what makes for Motherboards/Fx cards?

Which of the cheaper brands should I avoid?

Thanx in advance.

For motherboards asus and if you can find a supplier in SA DFI.

For gfx cards gainward and evga.

Personally and I may get shot down, if you dealing with corporate clients, Foxconn mobo (Sahara), Maxtor HDD (Sahara again - immediate swap outs on faults), Hynix RAM (Sahara and again immediate swap outs), Acer screens (Axiz), AOpen Chassis (Rectron, nice build quality for good price). The rest is much of a muchness.

If I was buying it for myself, Gigabyte/Asus mobo, Seagate HDD, Corsair memory, Acer Screen.

sahara for cheap cheap pricing and im talking insanely cheap pricing
rectron for gigabyte mobo's transend memory, also rectron only stocks quality so and their support is just amazing
frontosa for just about anything, pc modding deluxe
axiz for laptops acer and hp

dont touch esquire, they sell expensive crap

There's a reason why it's so cheap. Cos it's junk and their service is non-existent. IMO.

Can't argue there. BUUUUT they're about the only supplier that is open on a weekend ... and that can be a lifesaver.

Genex is also open on a Saturday, and not a S#!t hole like Esquire CT.

Thanx for the replies, will check out the suppliers mentioned.

actually sahara's quality is pretty good considering the price, i very rarely have any problems with their pc's

yes their service is shytty but its manageable
