Surfing Problems

I've been experiencing very bad speeds and surfing problems for the last few weeks.

Most often this takes the form of websites refusing to load, and my browser saying that I should check my connection. If I continue to refresh or press go multiple times, I keep getting this message until sometimes, if I'm lucky, it suddenly decides to connect to the website.

Even when this happens though, all the pictures on a site are never loaded, there are always a couple of "dead" pics around.

My signal strength is indicated to be excellent (100%).

This is making browsing almost impossible and incredibly frustrating.

I'm in the Westdene / Melville area.

I hope somebody can provide some advice.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael

Try this;

Make sure that your MTU is set to 1352, (sorry I'm sounding like the call centre) - either on your machine or on the router if you are using one.

If you are still experiencing issues, try using these DNS Server settings:
Primary 196.7.142.132 and Secondary 196.30.31.193

The best DNS servers to use is Open DNS, however several users that are up north are experiencing issues with Open DNS, due to the proxy servers iBurst is utilising in your area, however give it a try you might have some luck with it.

Primary 208.67.220.220 and Secondary 208.67.222.222

How to change your DNS settings – WinXP or Router
