Surfmore means you can only "surf" after hours during "callmore" hours.

If you take the surfmore 10 package for R163.00 per month you get :

rental for exchange line 87.05
Call Answer (must take) 9.85
600 minutes 16c p min 96.00

Total individual items R 192.90

So the package saves R 29.90 ( a whopping 15.5%)

Let's assume you naughty and you "surf4muchmore" during the day.

Assume 20 mins. per day = 600 x .40 = R240.00

Now you've surfed for less than 45 minutes per day on average and
your surfing bill at the end of the month is R 432.90 (VAT incl.)

Surfmore 10 is the package you get with the entry-level bundled PC
and Telkom's answer to the dream of all those eager south africans who currently cannot afford a computer.

Remember - surfmore means you will SURF4MUCHMORE - Telkom knows this.

2GB per month internet browsing at 192kbps (for himself and the kids)

Heh, I also saw the advert for surf4more, and dismissed it immediately. It won't work for me, as I'm online for long times after 7, and over weekends as well.

Sorry to resurrect this thread but...

Is there anyone, surfing and calling who has a bill with telkom for less than R833.40 ?

Hell yes ... I'm thinking how can it be that much? But my wife uses her cellphone for some calls; not many though.

Two lines, one nearly all internet - monthly bill including Infinitcall R350-R400, one all voice calls - monthly bill R250-R300. I think my total bill has only ever exceeded R800 when the maid was abusing the phone in the daytime.

I'm questioning whether I really want ADSL. Maybe I should keep dial + infinitcall and get a wireless solution for when the line is noisy or flooded (hello summer in the highveld )
