I've got my pc and a bunch of music gear connected to a single power point. Any recommendations for surge protection or what's the best way to add a bit of electrical protection for everything? I'm also assuming this at R120:

I really wonder if these work cause I had a surge and my inverter was plugged into a surge protector and that was the first thing to blow, that and my Xbox and alarm battery but those were not using a surge protector
I had one of those Ellies surge protectors and was one of their upper tier ones. Got a surge and it damaged my PC.

Then couple years later during peak loadshedding same thing happened but this one i took back to a distributor not knowing it took damage and they were super nice and said it looks like electricial damage but gave me replacement parts under warrenty...

Not what you are asking... For audio gear, however, I would recommend running on a portable power station. Sadly, it is something that needs a budget.

Have a portable power station, but generally keep it offline when there's no loadshedding.

Some of thew power surge guys will cover damage to appliances in event of damage. Could be a good option but make sure to read the fine print and keep receipts and probably photo evidence.

I don't have much faith in those surge protection plugs, but what does work well (especially for audio gear) is a line conditioner. I have two APC Line-R 1200VA line conditioners, one for PC, laptop, and TV, and the other for my two studio monitors.

A line conditioner provides under voltage and over voltage protection and can remove EMI or hums from a poor power source or bad earth.

Not sure if they still make the APC ones, but I've had mine for almost 20 years... You can also hear the relays switching back and forth whenever there is a power drop or spike, so I know they are doing their job!
