Yup, an actual +1 to Telkom for helping me out over the weekend!
So on Sunday morning my download speed was sitting at 4mbs, on a 10mbs line. After trying 3 different ADSL accounts, I ventured into using Afrihost's 'Magically fix my line' tool on their Clientzone website. After timing out, I had zero connection. Trying the same thing on my cellphone didn't help either - my line synced at 0kbs. So I called Afrihost, and they told me my line is broken and they have to log a fault with Telkom. I was a bit annoyed, why is my line 'broken' now, after I use their 'Fix my line' tool???
Regardless, an hour later a guy from Telkom knocked on my door... 14h00 on a Sunday! Checked a few things out on my line, then went over to the exchange to fix the problem there. It wasn't an hour later and everything was working perfectly. One swallow doesn't mean it's summer, but was definitely surprisingly good service.
