Guys I came across this game today.

Let me say I am a MASSIVE fan of the STALKER franchise. This game is being developed after the STALKER 2 was cancelled.

Apparently this is due for release in the third quarter this year, which we are approaching? Are we? LOL. But yeah its an open world online game, completely free and looks amazing. Its still being developed.

Do any of you guys have more info? Share please :D

I liked the Stalker series...except for the horrible lack of polish. If they fix that then it'll be awesome.

Install game (latest version)...launch it...crashes with "Stalker has stopped working". Climb onto Google to find obscure command line switch that make it launch (as in get to the menu of the game).

Manage to launch the game...lags like hell despite my PC being 10x more powerful than necessary. Google some more...discover that the in game GFX settings are insufficient to fix it...navigate to hidden directory on PC, manually edit a config file. Proceed to guess which of the cryptically named GFX settings is causing the issue and what the expected format of the variables is.

The game runs...proceed to ignore the horrible UI (e.g. the map is plain broken). Encounter a billion glitches...climb back onto google and discover that you're supposed to install a community complete mod to fix all the crap bugs game ending that the devs still haven't fixed by version 1.6.

Suffer in silence & commit to finishing the game. Encounter 2 more show stopper bugs that require re-loading an ancient save. The balancing was also shot to hell.

Finish the game. Swear to never even touch the other 2 stalker games in the steam library.
 
Indeed. The STALKER games were amazing, but horribly buggy. Call of Pripyat was okay and Shadow of Chernobyl was okay after it was patched, but Clear Skies still barely runs.
 
Funnily enough I never had these issues.
Call of Pripyat to me was also graphically stunning in many ways.

I have played Misery 2.0 and now Lost Alpha.
All great games, imo.
Yes there were glitches but nothing like you explained.
Maybe I was lucky.
 
The sad thing is I really liked the concept, vibe and artwork...the technical execution was just horrid though.

Oh well...if it gets good reviews and minimal grief about glitches then I'll give it a shot.
 
Has anyone had any issues when logging in?

I keep getting Login Server: Connection error, google hasn't helpful

Read my thread rather than this one seeing as I even linked the op.
I have played it many times with no issue.
Have you got a username and password?
