Hi,
I’m hoping there might be someone here who knows the potential problems with exchanging cell phones with a person that you don’t know very well.
I want to swap my Galaxy S3 phone for an iPhone 4s with someone.
1) If either phone is subject to a contract is it legal to swap?
2) What is to stop an unscrupulous other person from reporting their ex-phone as stolen a few months after swapping and having it blacklisted so that it doesn’t work on any network? (Presumably they might do this to claim insurance)......
I am trying to be very careful in choosing who I deal with and insist that any phone that I swap comes with its original box and accessories. I figure that this should help weed out most stolen phones. Is there any way to check if a prospective phone is stolen, such as a website?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
