I want to take out a new MTN contract for my wife and get the Nokia N73. Then give my current phone to my wife and I take the Nokia N73. But I am on Vodacom. Will I have any problems if I swap out my Vodacom SIM card into a MTN N73???

Please advise as I want to get the contract ASAP.

You shouldnt have problems - afaik they dont SIM lock phones but make sure when you buy it.

And if the phone is SIM locked? Can I have it unlocked?

Then, can I put her new MTN SIM card into my current Vodafone Nokia 6230i?

You can have it unlocked but they're probably going to charge you for the "service" - shop around though, you're bound to find an unlocked one eventually.

Provided both phones are not network locked - thats what I meant to say last time instead of SIM locked - then you can swop them as you like. Remember though to use each phone on its home network every so often so you keep the warranty.

For the past 2-3 years or so I have had a number of phones from diff SPs. What I have realised is that the phones are not sim-locked at all!!! I even have a VodaphoneLive branded phone (work) but its also not sim-locked!!!

Thanks guys. Got my newN73. Phone was not network locked. Cool.
Phone is already set-up for internet blah blah.

Want to what is a good site to get apps for my phone.

Never listen to MTN shop agents they only know what they get told. A guy enquired once if he could use an MTN sim in a vodafone live phone and the saleslady told him no. I nearly burst in on the conversation just to tell him he could no matter what she says cause the more sense he was making the more she was just saying no no no. But hey we here in South Africa have the best customer service right?

Like some moron at vodacom who scratched his head when i asked about the n95 i mean realy!
