Hi...Iv just bought an all-in-one Blu52 after 2 months of chemicals and money down the drain to clear my green pool... recently hv been using alum to settle the algae and then a manul vacume...but even though my water on top is crystal clear my pool over all looks green.Looking to now try Blu 52...but I want to shock my pool with blue 52 clear shock first..

*Can it be done in the day?
* Does this also contain chlorine?
*After how long can I then start using the all in 1solution?
*Do I need to or should I also add chlorine or floater while using an all in one solution?

Pls also add any feedback or things I shld and shldnt be be doing with Blu 52 apart from getting the pH right.
 
Ensure that you have the right product for your type of pool, the wrong product will damage it

Clear AND green? Have you used copper based products before? If so it sounds like copper staining, and using Blu 52 will make it worse.

no..but we use borehole water...hence the stains

Guys I also use borehole water and the pool turned green after being off while we fixed a leak, nothing worked, I added super shock every 3 days and the pool just got greener, anyway I added metal remover and bought Blu 52 big pool stuff, after 2 days the pool turned blue. It's still blue and the month program is working fantastically
I'm so happy I eventually found something that works
 
Needing to get some chlorine for the pool and have always got HTH but was wondering about trying the Blu52. Is it comparable to HTH in effectiveness? It seems cheaper but goedkoop is duurkoop as the saying goes.

I was always happy with it.

They have metal/copper in that Blu52. That helps great with algae but can lead to metal problems if used for long periods.
I use normal HTH and then just use something like Blu52 or Activator D once every 4-6months to get some metal in for the algae,

Previous house I used Blu52 for a couple of years, got permanent stains around the pool due to metal/copper in Blu52.

Current house, switched to salt chlorinator and it's much easier to maintain the pool

It's fine, hth is overpriced really

I think he's referring to the granulated chlorine not the blu52 all in one that does have the metal.
The granulated chlorine is just that

The granulated chlorine still claims it kills all algae, so I would still expect it too have the metal/copper oxide in it till proven otherwise with ingredients list.
 
If you’re in the Randburg area, I highly recommend The Pool Place off Beyers … they will test water samples you bring in, and give you whatever you need. Best of all, the chlorine they use is their own product and it’s better than HTH for all sorts of reasons they’ll explain to you. What I can say for sure is our complex pool looks absolutely stunning and it’s all we use, along with some pool acid when required and these dissolving sparkle squares.

In JHB you shouldn't need to be adding acid. Should be using alkaline
