Hi,

I need some advise.

I think our local Electrician, which I will not name now is testing my patience and intelligence.

The pool pumps timer was tripping and they replaced it. After the first call out they replaced it and when I got home it did not work. The second time they came out a different technician said it was wired incorrectly and he rewired it and it worked. Until I wanted to switch it to Perm and it did not work. Only when you turn the dial to the where pins are in an On position.

The owner of the company says I must turn the dial for it to work, ie go to where the pins are set to On and then it will switch on.

The timer is an Onesto TS18.

Do you think the Electricians are correct?

Regards
Ivan

Somewhere along the line the electricians are bull****ting you.
Wired incorrectly? That means that the first electrician possibly damaged the timer switch, so now you have to turn it to get it to go On.
So either they damaged the switch or used a 2nd hand faulty one.

Buy one yourself and fit it. Just make sure you chose one with built in battery to hold settings. I bought 2 and fitted them to my geyser and pool. Still working after 10 years....if I can wire it, anybody can !!!!!

I had the same as yours, I was sick and tired of it losing time during the loadschedding and so i installed one of these in a waterproof electrical box.
Cheap and has a backup battery and once programmed very easy to use.
