Hi All,

I am new to owning a swimming pool, and after having just moved into a house with one, i see that the cement between the pavers and the top of the fiber glass pool seems to be crumbling away and is now just a catchment for insects and algae .My question is, do i clean it out and re cement so it is flush between the pavers and pool again, or can i use some can of sealant?

Any help would be great, thanks

Chris

Welcome to a world of non-stop maintenance :)

The only way to really get it sorted is to lift the coping and have it redone, it's costly exercise by the way.

As a temp measure you can apply some sort of sealant but that's only to close the void

Thanks, any suggestion on what sealant i can use in the meantime?

Is that the only way? I was planning to seal mine with something like Sikasil Pool.

I have a few gaps as a result of repaving. It hasn't worsened, so just a few holes.

Me too... I've been planning for the day for 5 years though. It will be a hot, wind still day.

Annoying part is that there's a hole above the steps where the pool restorer made the shell dip by 2cm so I can't overfill my pool as much.

The SIKA range is quite good however as stated this is a temporary measure

Oh yea I only checked the OP's photos now.. it looks like it's lifting even - may need an expansion joint.

Mine can probably be sealed once-off - I have 400x400 pavers only.
