"at which stage you should stop doctoring it yourself and when to go see a doctor."
God this is beautiful. Placebo at its best and most terrible.
There are so many things in the world that are constantly there, but go unnoticed because no one is looking for it, thinking about it. Do you notice that you blink often? Do you really think about what water tastes like? What about if someone told you they accidentally dropped a vat of chemicals in the drinking water, would you pay more attention to the taste of water, and notice things that were there all along, but simply unnoticed?
A year ago, when someone got the flu, no one thought about it. It was taken care of with medicine and fluid intake etc. They themselves probably didn't even think about it; as such they probably didn't notice the similarities between non-lethal flu and something really bad like meningitis. They didn't bother looking for symptoms and many they didn't even notice.
But now that everyone is scared ****LESS about swine flu, even a cough or a cold will warrant extensive stress, which has been proven to damage your body more than any other "mental" disturbance. It also happens to destroy your immune system.
So not only do you have people who are actually looking out for symptoms, you have people with compromised immune systems, due to major strees, that are making themselves more susceptible to swine flu. Net result: Swine flu epidemic.
Beautiful.
