- Why did you buy it?
Because I had the means to do so and couldn't guarantee I'd be able to going forward. A more powerful Switch, it's a no brainer

- Best thing about it?
The premium feel. It really does feel well made

- Worst thing?
The all black colour. I actually miss the colourful Joy-cons.

- Accessories bought with it?
Nothing. Will get as and when i need

- Pro Controller 2 vs Pro Controller 1?
Joy-con

- Build quality?
Awesone

- How's mouse-mode? Do you see this mode becoming popular?
Haven't really tried yet. Will wait until I've played MP4 and Civilization to know

- Docked: what's your TV specs?
Not 4K. An older TV so an upgrade is needed

- Thoughts on launch lineup?
Meh. Unless you haven't played the Zelda's before, then frikken awesome

- Where else do you game?
Xbox Series S

- Feeling Buyers' remorse?
None whatsoever

A very important question has been left out.

What's the battery life like?

A very important question has been left out.

What's the battery life like?

Very seldom play handheld mode so it doesn't bother me. Enough

Better than steam deck at least

- Why did you buy it?
Had a Switch Lite which I honestly didn't use much because the screen was small, the anti-reflective coating made it not as clear as it could be, and there was no docking functionality to make it bigger. My 6 year old cousin did play on it, but honestly she started preferring the iPad. She opened Minecraft on the Switch Lite and it felt like a solid 2 minutes to get into the game and then load the world, she sighed and said "it's still loading" and then I realized it's time to move on.

- Best thing about it?
Backwards compatibility. And a big performance improvement, larger screen and joycons, fast storage, fast internet connectivity and 4K TV support.

- Worst thing?
A few things. First would be the 2hr15ish battery life but that's because the old OLED was so good. It's still respectable when you look at the PC handheld competitors.
The cost is also not great. Not of the console, R12500 would be fair if they made the changes that they should've (Nintendo Welcome tour free on the console, the plastic grip in the box for the Joycons with back buttons and a USB-c port for charging) but stuff like R2299 for controllers (I think they could've come in below R2k like the competition), Mario Kart being one of the first games to hit $80 (make it $70 and wait till Sony/MS came in at $80, which appears to be at the end of the year anyway) and SD Express expansion cost is also too high for such a small size.

- Accessories bought with it?
Switch 2 Pro controller. Planning on getting the steering wheels for the Joycons, and also another Joycon pair with a charging grip.

- Pro Controller 2 vs Pro Controller 1?
Never used the first one but this one is nice. Very satisfying button clicks and feels premium.

- Build quality?
Pretty good. The magnetic detach/attach is very nice and hearing the Joycons "pop" into the grip or the console is very satisfying.

- How's mouse-mode? Do you see this mode becoming popular?
If I wanted to use a mouse I'd go to my PC. But it's cool that the functionality is there for the people who want to be more competitive on online shooters.

- Docked: what's your TV specs?
Just a normal 65" Samsung 4K/60Hz HDR. Does the job just fine on my PS5 too.

- Thoughts on launch lineup?
A little weak. Splatoon Switch 2 update should've been at launch instead of today, Donkey Kong and the Kirby update should've been at launch instead of 1.5-2.5 months later, and there should've been updates for popular games like Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive, Animal Crossing and maybe a fan favourite like Astral Chain
I also think they could've snuck a remaster in, maybe not my dream Twilight Princess remaster but something along those lines that Nintendo fans would appreciate.

- Where else do you game?
RTX4090 Gaming PC and PS5.

- Feeling Buyers' remorse?
Nope, it's great.

So, one week in:
- Why did you buy it?
Mrs bought me a PS5

- Best thing about it?
Make old games great/better and some even playable

- Worst thing?
Make old games great/better and some even playable <-- my Wallet not gonna survive.

- Accessories bought with it?
Screen Protector
MicroSD
Both in my view is a must. SCreen protector esp cause the dam dock scratch the screen

- Pro Controller 2 vs Pro Controller 1?
Neither.
8Bitdo Ultimate FTW, cheaper and can remap buttons

- Build quality?
I am happy with it, only gripe is the dock door clip on so gonna get lost over time

- How's mouse-mode? Do you see this mode becoming popular?
It has mouse mode? :D

- Docked: what's your TV specs?
Only in bedroom for now so using 1080p @ 60 did test it on Samsung 4k 120 and visuals doesnt look as out of place like the OG one did.

- Thoughts on launch lineup?
Who cares, see 1st point.
Did play some Mario kart, not a fan of the series but did find it ok. Planning to buy the other launch title: Fast Fusion but will have to wait till payday.

- Where else do you game?
Xbox Series X, PS5, PC

- Feeling Buyers' remorse?
Hell no.

So, one week in:

- Why did you buy it?
Future proof for Pokemon

- Best thing about it?
Sound and screen

- Worst thing?
Battery and needing SD Express

- Accessories bought with it?
Waiting for payday for a screen protector

- Pro Controller 2 vs Pro Controller 1?
No hands on yet for 2 so 1 it is

- Build quality?
It nice

- How's mouse-mode? Do you see this mode becoming popular?
Not used that much yet. I prefer an ordinary moes.

- Docked: what's your TV specs?
1080p. But I use handheld mode the most

- Thoughts on launch lineup?
Kinda sucks, but did not get it for launch tities.

- Where else do you game?
PC, PS, 3DS, GC, GB, GBC, GBA, DS, N64. (Just not a lot of time available)

- Feeling Buyers' remorse?
For what? Except for the battery, thing does what it is supposed to.

- Why did you buy it?
I like new tech and playing games from all the platforms

- Best thing about it?
Performance over original switch

- Worst thing?
Battery life

- Accessories bought with it?
256GB SD Express card, should probably grab a screen protector at some point

- Pro Controller 2 vs Pro Controller 1?
Dual sense using 8bitdo adapter

- Build quality?
Excellent, feels like a premium product

- How's mouse-mode? Do you see this mode becoming popular?
Used it for half a second

- Docked: what's your TV specs?
LG C9 OLED and it looks amazing, especially compared to what the switch 2 could do.

- Thoughts on launch lineup?
Pretty weak tbh. Mario cart and fast fusion are fun, but it's missing a nice single player campaign experience.

- Where else do you game?
4080 super PC, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X

- Feeling Buyers' remorse?
I never do :D

That film is probably what got scratches from the dock. Not planning on removing it so opted to get a protector instead. Got the el cheapo Hori film protector from nintendo.co.za for now. Will get a proper 9H glass one when they drop in price; I'm not willing to spend R499 for it.
